Breakfast this Morning- Purple Porridge!




This morning I felt like a warm breakfast, as it was absolutely freeeeezing! I decided to make my purple porridge (berry porridge really but purple sounds better). It looks very pretty and is super healthy too! Recipe below...


Porridge Ingredients-

  • approx. 1/2 cup of organic whole oats 
  • approx. 3/4 cup of water
  • almond milk
  • handful of frozen berries (I used mixed berries)
  • cinnamon to taste
  • sprinkle of bee pollen
  • honey to taste

Put the oats and half the water into a saucepan with a pinch of salt. Bring to the boil and then simmer. Add the berries, the bee pollen and the cinnamon. Add more water or almond milk as you need (when it starts to get drier and it's still not cooked) until it's cooked to your liking. Stir in a bit of honey until it's at the desired sweetness. Serve with or without extra almond milk.
